The Heart Behind Mingles.Singles
👋 Hi, I’m Jim Starr — and I built Mingles.Singles at 71 years old.
A lot of people expect life to slow down as they get older. I didn’t want that for myself. I’ve spent my life helping people — teaching, building businesses, and creating things that bring value to others. But after watching how complicated, noisy, and overwhelming most online platforms had become, I started thinking:
“Where do introverts go to meet real people… without all the pressure?”
🌱 Why I Created Mingles.Singles
This platform was born from three simple beliefs:
- Quiet people deserve meaningful connection. You shouldn’t have to perform or pretend to be someone you’re not.
- There’s nothing wrong with taking things slowly. Introverts connect differently — and that’s something to celebrate.
- At any age, we deserve companionship, friendship, and belonging. If you’re here for friendship, dating, or simply conversation — you belong here.
💛 A Personal Note About Legacy
At this stage of life, I’ve been thinking a lot about meaning, purpose, and what I want to leave behind. Mingles.Singles isn’t just a website or a project — it’s part of my lasting legacy. I wanted to create something positive, something that brings people together, something that continues helping others long after I’m gone.
If this community brings comfort, connection, or joy to even a few people… then building it was worth every minute.

Building this community pushed me to learn AI tools, video creation, website design, and more. And I loved every minute of it. It proved something important:
